Admission

Check of requirements and preparation

The verification of requirements and students’ personal preparation is carried out by a special Commission appointed by the Teaching board and includes the evaluation of the previous career, possibly integrated with other materials (e.g., course programs). The Commission may also decide to conduct an interview with the students. The admission test takes place at the end of September and is valid only for the academic year in question. Students who have not yet graduated may also register for the Admission Test, provided that, by the application submission deadline for the test, they have acquired no fewer than 150 CFU (with respect to the Bachelor’s Degree study plan). Students who have graduated in Chemistry at the University of Pavia with a grade of no less than 92/110 are admitted by right to the Master’s Degree, but must still register for the test even if they will not be contacted for the interview. The application for registration to the Admission Test must be submitted exclusively online, and the candidate can register by the deadline indicated on the university website.
For the year 2025–2026, the first test took place on Thursday, 11 September 2025, and a second test will be held on 28 October at 2:30 pm.
The test does not require the candidates’ presence. If the documentation submitted when registering for the test indicates adequate preparation, the candidate will receive an email from the Student Secretariat in the days following the test, in which their direct admission or conditional admission to the Master’s Degree in Chemistry will be communicated. Otherwise, non-admission will be communicated via email.
In doubtful cases, on September 11, the Commission will call the candidates for a telematic interview (Zoom platform). The time and link to access the video call will be communicated via email.
Students who are about to obtain a qualification useful for enrollment in the Master’s Degree by March 31, 2026 and who, at the deadline for submitting the application for registration for the verification test, have acquired no less than 150 CFU with respect to the study plan of the Bachelor’s Degree, may enroll under the condition.
